Today’s post is all about how you can join in with #teamhonk ‘s varied plans to fundraise for Red Nose Day on Friday 15th March 2013.
When I told my good friend J I was going to Ghana with Comic Relief she said
‘Well that’s p*****d all over my bake sale at work.’
I told her not to be daft, because all I was doing was going out there to raise awareness, while she was one of thousands of people raising a few quid, which each year adds up to millions to help people in poverty here and in the UK.
J makes flapjacks to die for, I know they’ll get snapped up. So this one’s for you J, and all the thousands of people out there who make great things happen, like:

Craft skills that enabled Mercy to start her own business The Beads Lounge and achieve financial independence

The Virtuous Women’s bakery, with a nursery that means mum can earn enough money to look after her family
Having seen all this first hand I know this year I want to join J and all the thousands of others and raise money, share where the money goes and spread the message that every little bit can make a huge difference to someone’s life.
Annie and T who I travelled to Ghana with, have utterly amazing, funny ideas for fundraising, I just kept telling them all I could think of was baking cakes, having some pre-schoolers and friends over for some red nose themed fun and asking everyone to make a donation. Always a winner in my book.
My message to day is join team honk, let’s put our collective fundraising energies together and make some noise! Big or small every bit counts. Mummy Barrow is announcing her plans later in the week and more and more people are signing up by the minute.
Annie has since convinced me to climb Snowdon superhero style with frilly pants over my leggings, if you fancy joining us please shout! I just peeked at the team page and we have some recruits and sponsors already!
If you can’t do it fully understood, but do consider sponsoring us, or cooking up your own fundraising antics. My message here is loud and clear, every little helps. You can:Join Team Honk or Join Team Honk Snowdon
Later in the week I am hoping to collect together lots of fundraising ideas, so if you have any fundraising ideas, big or small, that might inspire others, please let me know about them!

Will get my thinking cap on! I’m not up to climbing Snowdon, but I’ll keep an ear out for the other Team Honk activities…..
