I’m a MADS Outstanding and Frugal 100 Finalist – Thank you

The MAD Blog Awards

I was going to write a post about the comedown after Ghana and Snowdon. It was going to be called the other side of the mountain and feature a pile of washing and the truth about the state of my house and mind, about craving some normality and a social media detox. But it seems I am not to write that post just yet. I want to say a huge thank you because I am blown away to be a finalist in two awards this week.

Someone nominated me as an outstanding blogger in the MAD blog awards, a huge deal in the parent blogging community. I’ve been nominated before, but never been a finalist, so to be a finalist in the outstanding category is pretty amazing. Thank you so bloomin much whoever you are?

Alexander Residence because her videos are hysterical and THAT’S the way to raise money for charity. Penny works very hard on her blog and putting PRs in touch with other bloggers. She has a wealth of knowledge and is never too busy to share it

What a lovely thing to say. Especially given that over the last two months I have felt in such a spin that I haven’t had chance to keep up with other people’s lives, I’m forever apologising and feeling guilty for being a whirlwind. I’ve always loved that blogging allows me to make a living AND do some good for causes I care about, so it’s nice to have that validated.

At this point I have to give Mummy Barrow and Mammasaurus a shout out, because that first sentence is as much about them as it is me. That video wouldn’t have been funny without their inspiration, because being part of a team has made a HUGE difference to my blogging.

The other people in the category are all utterly amazing, many are very special people to me. I don’t expect to win, but I do look forward to taking my video camera along to the MAD awards and dressing up in a nice frock. Thank you MAD blog awards.

The second award is all about being thrifty, I can only think that hanging out with Becky has rubbed off on me. If you read the blurb about the science of how they calculated the scores, it is pretty clear I do write about money, cheap living and frugality, I just didn’t realise I was doing it quite so much, so that has me thinking.

  1. An impressive share! I’ve just forwarded this onto a co-worker who has been conducting a little research on this. And he actually ordered me lunch due to the fact that I stumbled upon it for him… lol. So allow me to reword this…. Thank YOU for the meal!! But yeah, thanks for spending time to talk about this topic here on your web site.

  2. Hi there just wanted to give you a quick heads up and let
you know a few of the images aren’t loading properly.
I’m not sure why but I think its a linking issue. I’ve tried it in two different internet
browsers and both show the same outcome.
