Focus on Italy with Eurocamp

Lake Garda

Not booked a holiday yet? We haven’t either.

Eurocamp got in touch to tell me about a great holiday offer.  They pledged to back Andy Murray by offering a celebratory 30% discount on five of their top parcs which include tennis courts, if Andy Murray makes the Wimbledon Male singles final 2013. Well he did it, and here’s the discount offer, but what can you expect at a Eurocamp park?

Eurocamp parcs offer a much wider range of ‘camping’ options than I realised, I know when I was little we stayed in some Eurocamp sites in France. Nowadays the options include tents, mobile homes, glamping safari tents, mountain lodges and even tree houses. There are so many ways to experience the great outdoors than being in a tent!

Eurocamp parcs are categorised to help you choose the right mix of activity, culture, fun and adventure for your family. There are parcs specially geared to toddlers, parcs with spas, parcs in the grounds of chateaus and splash parcs with all the fun of water parks.

To get a better idea, I took a look at what is on offer in Italy. Having visited Bologna in the spring, I already have a taste for Italy as a holiday destination that mixes sun, fun, amazing food and culture. There are lots of Eurocamp sites in Tuscany, the Lakes: Lake Garda and Lake Maggiore and the Adriatic coast.

Three regions with so much to offer. We loved Tuscany for it’s food, fields of Sunflowers and hill top villages. Parco delle Piscine in Sarteano, Tuscany is one of the 5 parks in the Murray tennis offer. It has a private thermal pool at a constant 24 degrees. It is close enough to explore Sienna and Florence, although you may just want to make the most of the amazing local food and wine.

Mr A and I won a holiday years ago to Lake Garda, it is like something out of a fairytale, where castles and majestic marble landing stages suddenly appear from behind the trees as you take the ferry across the lake.

Lots of the resorts in Lake Garda offer watersports and have a private lakeside beach. There’s also a theme park in the area and you are within easy reach of Venice, Verona and Pisa.

The Adriatic region I haven’t visited, but this is where you find the beaches, and day trip to Venice.

  1. It sounds like a more budget-friendly way to see Europe, although I would like to check prices to be sure. One of my friends said she found it was cheaper to rent a gite in France, for example, than book a lodge at a campsite. I guess you are paying for other amenities. We have a place in Abruzzo and local b&bs and holiday apartments are ridiculously cheap in comparison to other parts of Italy.

  2. What an incredible review of my much loved Italia! I lived in Rome for a short while when I worked for a film company after Uni and have travelled all over the stunning country. The food, culture, sunshine and of course the people of Italy make it a top family destination of choice. I’ve never been to Lake Garda but so want to-might even spot a Mr George Clooney who I hear frequents it a lot too! Added bonus right!
