What’s on at Nottingham Playhouse? @skymirror

If you haven’t guessed already, the Panto is Jack and the Beanstalk! Oh no it isn’t, oh yes it is! It is selling as fast as a beanstalk grows, so do book sooner rather than later.

Family Shows

We had a fab day at the Open Day, trying on costumes, planting our own magic beans, listening to stories and planning some theatre trips for the Autumn season.

Blown Away is for 3-5 year olds, and Yummm! has performances for 2-4 and 4-7 year olds

Coincidentally we ran into the director of Rapunzel Andrew Breakwell at the train station over the summer. I was trying to keep the kids quiet by getting them to imagine what our umbrella could be, if it wasn’t an umbrella, a broomstick, a magic wand etc etc. It’s a game that immediately gives you away as a drama teacher, so we got talking.

Specially written for younger children, and told in an inventive visual, physical style, Rapunzel is a delightful story about the curiosities and joys of growing up. It’s the perfect Christmas treat for 4 – 8 year-olds and their families.

Theatre for grown ups

Here are the in house shows at Nottingham Playhouse for grown ups coming before then:

Sadly I missed 1984, one of my all time favourite books, but I did catch up with Louise and Jen on Twitter, who both went, here’s what they had to say:

Read Jen’s review here and Louise’s here

I’m looking forward to a night with the Nottingham Playhouse brochure, a hot chocolate and a highlighter.
